I have extensive board-level experience of the delights and challenges of running businesses and charities with turnover up to £100m. Drawing on deep experience from my executive and non executive careers, I bring an unusual combination of clarity, commercial judgement, strategic awareness, and financial fluency; combined with compassionate dedication to the people issues, and as much positivity as needed to get the job done!

I have been Investment Director and Head of New Business (South West) for 3i plc; Investment and Managing Director of Catalyst Fund Management; Chair of Investment Committee for South West Ventures; as well as Board Director and mentor for many entrepreneurial businesses spanning a range of industries across Europe. I am currently trustee of Relate Avon which I took on as a turnaround situation in January 2023 and which is out-performing expectations.

I have always combined training and coaching with my executive roles, won Bristol Evening Post Mentor of the Year in 2016, and have over 25 years’ experience of coaching and teaching, including teaching at Cardiff Business School and Said Business School.
